Sustainable without compromise

FX6002 decreases the environmental impact of passive fire protection without compromising on quality or performance.

Low release of volatile organic compounds (VOC)

FX6002 offers a 90% reduction in VOC emissions when compared to a traditional single-pack solvent based intumescent system.

Third-party verification

Following extensive testing, FX6002 was certified to EN 16516 for low volatile emissions.

Same durability with less product

FX6002 provides up to 20 year design life in a C3 environment by using less product than alternative coatings, which helps to reduce total VOC emissions of your project.

Building green solutions

FX6002 is certified to LEED v4.1 The protective coating can make a significant contribution to your overall LEED score. Below are key factors to consider regarding your LEED credits:

Selecting the right materials

To increase your LEED credits it’s vital that you analyse manufacturer declarations to ensure that your chosen material meets the necessary requirements.

Forward planning

When designing a building anticipating the requirements of interior and exterior products is crucial. By planning ahead you can ensure that your development leaves minimal impact on the environment.

Environmental product declarations (EPDs)

EPDs are a key criteria for achieving LEED certification. FX6002 is classified as Product-specific Type III EPD. This means that the coating has been independently verified and provides complete transparency of its environmental impact.

Increasing your LEED credits

From design to build, it is important to consider all aspects of your project, and in particular analyse how these areas can impact your LEED certification. With a comprehensive review of your development you can ensure you choose the appropriate materials and products that will help to increase your LEED credits.
